Peter Were’s design philosophy integrates architecture and interior design to create sophisticated spaces with an underlying classicism that transcends trends and fads.
Trained in architecture but with a passion for interior design, Peter blends the two disciplines into seamless spatial solutions that have character and individuality. He delivers considered buildings and spaces with a sense of depth, sometimes with an occasional eccentric twist. Strong concepts drive his design process, developing an aesthetic language unique to each project.
Peter enjoys working with creative builders, artisan cabinetmakers and specialist fabricators to bring innovative design ideas to life.
“Weaving stories layered with richness and intrigue, Peter Were produces interiors as individual as his clients. He enjoys richness of colour, pattern on pattern, but avoids flavours of the month and trendy colours. Sourcing the interesting and unusual, Peter finds art and furniture pieces that generate a response. Peter’s architecture is shaped primarily by his clients’ spatial needs rather than an external aesthetic, although he’s not afraid to deliver a completely new expression if it’s appropriate.”
